PAWS (Plantations on Ancient Woodland Sites)
Here is an interesting case study on the removal of Beech trees from Cors y Gedol; a site with significant archaeological interest - which meant that we could not make use of the usual heavy machinery typical in this type of work. Because of this we employed manual tree felling practices and horse logging to remove the timber from the site once felled.
