Undertake some practical conservation work

During the project volunteers have helped us with vegetation management including holly and Rhododendron Ponticum. They have also planted trees in areas cleared of Rhododendron Ponticum. With supervision from the relevant adults some of these activities are suitable for children and young people.

The video below shows the type of task that Snowdonia Society members have done to control Rhododendron Ponticum.

Why not contact the Celtic Rainforest project staff to see if there is an opportunity for you to undertake some practical work like this.

You can also take part in the efforts to plant more oak trees by collecting acorns. You can learn about the Natural Resources Wales project ‘Acorn Antics’ that encourages school pupils to collect acorns here.
