We are grateful to be able to work with Cofnod to create these great opportunities for you to learn from some of our local experts about some of the valuable treasures of our rainforests.
Unfortunately due to Covid-19 we had to postpone many of our events this spring. But, luckily as one door closes another opens. Working with Cofnod we have been able to run a webinar series about some of the organisms found in the Celtic Rainforest that make them truly special. Don't worry if you missed them at the time as they are available on YouTube.
All webinars are in English and are suitable for beginners and those with some previous experience or knowledge. The experts talk about the main different types of the organisms, their characteristics and habitats rather than trying to teach you how to identify loads of species in an hour! By watching the presentations you will learn more about how they reproduce and the key features which are useful for identification.
The series began with bryophyte expert Lucia Ruffino with a presentation on Mosses and Liverworts. Then Cathy Wüster gave us 'Appreciating the Smaller things' about lichen. The third webinar is the Introduction to Ferns by David Hill. We return to Cathy Wüster for the fourth webinar 'Virtually a Bat Walk'.
We would like to thank the presenters for their time spent putting together such lovely informative presentations full of wonderful photos.
You can watch for free… but please let others know about them by using the links below!
